Top 5 Anime 2015

Finally we're at the end of 2015.. My god time flies...

So as you read on the title, this is my top 5 Anime that aired in 2015! I will state some rules for this ranking.
1) It's my choice, so it's not objective, it's very subjective, these are my top 5 animes that I enjoyed the most for this year's season
2) I have to watch it until the end of the episode and it has to finished airing as well. I haven't finished watching Arslan Senki and I really want to put Gundam Iron-blooded orphans, but it hasn't finished airing yet.
3) I didn't managed to watch all the anime that I plan to watch. So don't ask why "Hey why there's no Yuru Yuri San Hai! in the list?" because I haven't watch it yet. Since I've been so crazy busy this past 3 months and honestly I didn't watch a lot of anime this year T_T

So are we clear? Ok, let's jam!

5) Ore Monogatari

First of all, "Ore Monogatari!" or My Love Story is not a part of Monogatari series (Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, Kizumonogatari etc). I really enjoyed watching this because this show  really shows a  positive outcome of having a relationship with someone you love. Normally a romance comedy anime or shoujo romance heavily relies on how someone is feeling hurt when s/he can't confess his/her love to his/her loved ones or how indecisive the main protagonist *cough Ao Haru Ride cough*
And this anime is different, the main protagonist is a big ogre gorilla guy who is in love with a girl, and he misunderstood that the girl is in love with his ikemen friend but apparently the girl is in love with him.

The story is almost like Shrek. Shrek the anime or should I say. hahaha!

I really enjoyed watching this anime, but the lack of conflict might be a turn off for any body else.

4) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : Stardust Crusaders - Egypt arc

This is the 2nd season of Stardust Crusaders, and I really enjoyed watching it! The finale is really hype as hell! There's a lot of funny and hilarious moments, intense fights, and also  friendship that makes me feels sentimental whenever I see their group photo. T_T

It's hell of a journey, or you can say, a bizarre adventure! I really can't wait to see Part 4 next year! XD

3) One Punch Man

Yes! THIS ANIME SHOULD BE ON THE LIST! I just finished watching it yesterday and my god, the fighting animation is really really really cool and hype as hell! I read the manga before the anime project was announced. And I really like the manga, I laughed a lot on this, I feel thrilled with the awesome battle scenes, and also I also shed manly tears on my favorite arc. The opening song is my favorite anisong for this year! Thanks to Madhouse studio who made this anime with amazing quality!

2) Shirobako

Have you ever wondered how does it feel like working on Anime industry in Japan? Well, this anime is your perfect answer! I watched this anime when I was still looking for a job and until I managed to get my current job right now, so I can relate a lot to this anime! I can feel the struggle of looking for a job and get rejected over and over again. And also the struggle of facing a client who wants to change before d-day and makes you have to make things from the scratch again. Yes, it's really hectic! For those who always say "Where's my 2nd season anime!?" well, watch this anime first, so you can understand that it's not easy to make an anime series. PA Works really makes a great job on making this anime!

1) Kekkai Sensen

Kekkai Sensen, my god this anime, I really missed the times when you watch the anime and you just enjoyed the anime like this. It's really chaotic and fun to watch! You see a group of badass people who kick some ass! The engaging and fun story telling, love-able character, awesome animation, awesome BGM, and also the super catchy ending song, what's not to love from this anime?
If you loved Durarara! or Bacanno! type of anime, you'll love this anime as well! And the ending makes me want for more!

Some honorable mention anime :
Gangsta : this anime cliffhanger ending is killing me, and knowing the fact that the studio who made this anime, Manglobe went to bankrupt, makes me even sad, will be any other studio wants to continue their work? I highly doubt it since manly anime like this is not really selling compared to moe/ecchi anime.
Arslan Senki : I just watched 3 eps of it, and I really liked this anime! I watched the OVA (the old one) and the story is really engaging and I loved the kingdom setting.
Gintama : Well, this anime is a hilarious one, and now it's entering the serious arc! And I heard that the manga is going to end next year! Damn, didn't expect that this awesomely hilarious manga is going to end T_T

That's it guys my top 5 anime of 2015, do you agree with me or do you disagree with me? Let me know on the comments below! I really want to know other's opinion and I might have missed some good anime this year. haha

Happy holidays from me! This is Reikichi, signing out!

Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens - Spoiler Review Talk

Okay, this post is going to contain full spoiler review talk from this movie, if you want my non-spoiler review, you can click it here

If you haven't watched it and still reading this, you have been warned!

So Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens opens up with the title screen
(me and my girlfriend was squealing when watching the title exposition lol)
and it states that Luke Skywalker is missing.

When I saw that line, I was thinking to myself.
"Oh crap! What happened? Is he going to be evil in this movie?"
But we'll get there later

The story opens up with Poe, which is the best Rebellion pilot (yeah the movie told us so and it was true, All of it!), getting a map that contains Luke Skywalker's whereabouts and he put that map in to his Droid, BB-8 and he told BB-8 to run away from that place and bring back the map to the Rebellion base.

At this point, I was like "Yes, this is familiar, I've seen this on Episode IV"

And then we encounter the First Order that blasted through the place. And we see our main Antagonist here, Kylo Ren!

I really like this reveal seriously, He is just menacingly killed everybody on the camp. And the most epic moment when Kylo Ren stopped a laser blast with the Force. That scene there blew my mind and made my jaw dropped. My god he is a badass!

and later on Poe got captured by the First Order.

I really like the scene where there's a stormtrooper dying because he got shot and he tries to reach another stormtrooper while dying and his blood just marked his friend's helmet. And we can see humanity side of Stormtrooper for awhile.

And it was revealed that the stormtrooper that has been marked with blood was Finn, our main character (or that's what we believed in because the trailer cues that)

and then we switched to Rey, the other main character! She is a scavenger and she lives on a Jakku, a desert planet (which I initially thought that it was Tattooine, but it wasn't)

After Rey's brief introduction, we see that Poe is getting tortured by Kylo Ren to get information about the map (which finally he get the information)

Later on, Poe was saved by Finn and both of them escaped from the First Order ship and get shot and crash landed on Jakku.

At that scene, Finn and Poe feels like a true bro who helped each other and mind you that it's the first 5-6 minutes of the movie and we can see a better bro relationship than Anakin and Obi-Wan in the prequel did on the Episode II and III. *seriously tho hahaha

Finn believes that Poe didn't survive the crash and he walked and met Rey.
They got attacked by the First order and they try to escape it while bringing BB-8 together and look for a spaceship and Finn and Rey's conversation was like
"Hey can you pilot that thing?"
"Yes I can"
"How about that one?"
"That one is garbage!"(at that scene I was like, "I think I know what ship that you were refer as garbage")
And a ship that they headed got destroyed and Rey was like
"The garbage will do"
damn that scene was hilarious.XD

And the garbage was of course The Millenium Falcon! And then an awesome dog fight scene. I really liked Finn and Rey's chemistry during this dog fight scene.

And then we met Han Solo and Chewbacca (This scene makes me emotional for a sec, damn it's really good to see them back)

Okay, let's talk about Kylo Ren, He is revealed that he is Han Solo's and Leia's son. And that makes me feel like "OMG! This is going to be a family matter again".

And we see that Kylo Ren is actually not a Sith Lord, I should have noticed it because there's no Darth title on him. But Snoke (which looks awfully similar like Gollum from The Lords of The Rings) didn't have Darth title as well. I'm not really sure what happened and this plot hole bothers me and I hope they will explain it in the next movies.

It wasn't explained in detail but Luke Skywalker trained some people to be a Jedi and some of his apprentice betrayed him and it makes everything wrong. And we can assume that traitor was Kylo Ren and he was seduced by the Dark Side. Before this plot point was revealed, I was thinking
"Is this some kind of trend? A Jedi Master goes to exile and hide in the unknown planet."
But Luke's action makes sense, because Kylo Ren is Han Solo's and Leia's Son, He feels ashamed that he couldn't trained Kylo Ren better and failed them as a friend and as a Jedi Master. He feels guilty about it.

Kylo Ren is also still young and haven't finished his training as a Sith. We can see that when he tries to get the information from Rey. Because she fights back by using the Force and he couldn't do anything about it.

We can also see him having a dilemma of him about going back to the light side. That kind of struggle makes me think that "Damn, Anakin's dilemma should be executed like this"

I think people will start comparing him to Darth Vader and the fact that he loses to someone who never fights using light saber before will make people say "Man, Kylo Ren is lame"
but hear this
Kylo Ren is neither a fully trained Jedi nor Sith, So I find his lack of skill is not disturbing (see what I did there? lol)
While Darth Vader, he was almost a Jedi Master (even Obi-Wan himself acknowledged his skills), and he have fought countless battle during the Clone Wars.
So I can see potential of Kylo Ren's character development in the next 2 episodes.

And now let's talk about Rey. My god this girl is a badass! In the trailer, we saw that Finn is going to be the main character and he is going to be a Jedi. But it wasn't! It was Rey all along!

(I really loved that Trailer because it didn't reveal any plot points)

She is Force sensitive, and I really like her natural Jedi Ability and she might be a better Jedi Master than Luke someday. She used the Jedi Mind Trick on the Stormtrooper when she was captured (which people next to me thought that she was reading the stormtrooper's mind, yeah, I facepalmed at that too)
even though it takes 2-3 times before she manages to pull it off.

And I really love that scene where Kylo Ren is trying to pull the lightsaber by using the Force and it pans out and BAM! the lightsaber flew through him and Rey holding up the lightsaber. My god that scene makes me thrill seriously!

And there's this scene that shocks me, when Kylo Ren (or Ben Solo) killed his father.
And that scene feels like Game of Thrones, where it was emotionally touching at first, but then that person just get ruthlessly murdered.
When I watched that, I froze because I was too shocked!
I can't even feel mad about the fact that Ben killed Han Solo!
And Chewbacca was like "YOU BASTARD!" and he shot Ben from the distance and he managed to shot him which makes Kylo Ren during the final fight beating his chest to endure the pain.

damn I didn't really see that coming
Apparently Han Solo's death scene was spoiled on the internet before this movie came out, but I managed to avoid it because I decided to signed out from the Internet before I watched the movie. And boy I'm glad that I did

After Kylo Ren is defeated, Snoke was like, "Bring him to me, I will complete his training"
Ok, the next movie, he is going to be more badass *hopefully*

After that, Rey goes to the planet where Luke Skywalker is hiding, and she showed the lightsaber to him and..... the movie ends!

and that makes me wanted to see more of this movie! Seriously! This is a very well directed movie that has  great script and very engaging story telling! It's awesome! I really can't wait to watch the next episode! XD

Okay that's it guys, Hope you enjoyed my spoiler review (or rambling to be precise), If you are a Star Wars fan, this movie is a MUST WATCH! XD

Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens - Movie Review

Hey Guys! It’s been awhile! Sorry I’ve been so crazy busy with work this past 3 months and didn’t have the time to write a lot ^_^;
I hope I will be able to post weekly just I used to be next year... hahaha!

So I just watched Star Wars VII The Force Awakens yesterday with my girlfriend. And boy...

IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME! XDDD

In this post, I’m going to post my non-spoiler review since I really embrace the idea of enjoying something without getting spoiled. But I will post a spoiler review in the next post.
So without further a due.. Let’s jam!

The events on Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens took place 30 years after Episode VI. So I wouldn’t recommend this movie for those who haven’t watched the original Star Wars trilogy (Episode IV, V, VI) because it will make you ask questions like.
“Who is this old man?”
“What is that furry guy thing?”
“Why is everybody understand what does the furry guy say
while he is just saying ‘AURGGHHHHH!’ ?”
“OMG! DID SHE JUST READ THAT ROBOT’S MIND?” -> actual question that emerged when I watched this yesterday, and that person sits right next to me.

This movie is directed by J.J Abrams. When this movie is announced and heard that he is the one who is going to direct this movie I was like
“Okay, he did very good on Star Trek movie. I hope he won’t make this movie suck like the prequel trilogy.”
And J.J Abrams’ signature (If I can say it that way) is he tends to give a lot of lens flares, which is kinda annoying for me. If you watched the Star Trek movie, you’ll know what I’m saying.
And thank god he didn’t do that on this movie hahaha.

I really like how J.J. Abrams shot the scene on this movie. There are some cinematic scene that makes me think like “Man, I’d screenshot that scene and make a wallpaper from it”
Unlike the prequel trilogy, I really really care about the characters on this movie! I even care for the stormtroopers. Because this movie actually gives them humanity and more personality.
Finn and Rey’s chemistry is really great! I really love those two new star wars character!
Rey as character is really cool and her actions always makes me want to say “You go gurl!” during the movie
Poe is an amazing character! His piloting skill is superb.I just wished I see more of him.
Speaking of piloting, the dog fight in this movie is really amazing!
Kylo Ren is an amazing antagonist character. Unfortunately I didn’t see Captian Phasma doing much on this movie but I really liked the character design.
And there’s Yayan and Iko Uwais, 2 famous Indonesian actors from “The Raid”
as an Indonesian, I’m really proud seeing those 2 on this movie
and they actually have lines to say. TvT b

Oh I forgot to mention that soundtrack is amazing and John Williams is back to compose it, and I really love the music XD

This movie is 2 and a half hours long and I didn’t feel any single dull moment on this movie. And when it ends I was like “AAARGHHH!” and I looked to my girlfriend and asked her
“EPISODE VIII WHEN?!”

Yes, this movie has its flaws as well, some plot holes, but the thing is, this is a trilogy, so I hoped they will answer and cover up the plot holes in the next episode.
So, does this movie worth the hype? Yes, it does deserve the hype and it does lived up to the hype and as for me, it exceeds my expectations.

Should you watch it? If you have watched the original trilogy, yes you should watch it! If you haven’t watch the original trilogy, I recommend you to watch it first before watching this movie. And if you have watched the original trilogy and haven’t watched Episode VII, well, what are you doing? Stop reading this post and just go out and watch it now! XD

Gakkou Gurashi - Anime Review

From left to right : Kurumi, Yuki, Rii
Sitting down : Taroumaru (the dog) and Miki

So today I'm going to review an anime which is quite popular last season, which is Gakkou Gurashi. This anime wasn't in my "to-watch-list" at first but when everybody on the internet be like
"OH MY GOD! THIS IS THE SHOW OF THE SEASON!"
welp....
I'm curious about it so I watch it... so does it live up to the expectation?
I'm honestly a skeptical person when it comes to something popular... Because I believe that popular does not equal good

Since this anime is hard to review without spoiling it.. so this is going to be a total spoiler review..

Do you want a non-spoiler review? okay, here's a short version
Bunch of girls living their life at school and they spend their day on club activity named school life club....... the end

Since my usual format review is such a hassle to write, so from here and out, I will shorten my review.. *since I reviewed JoJo here, I feel that I should shorten my review hahaha* and I'm also currently writing a "Hunter x Hunter (2011)" review which contains 148 eps... so yeah... That'd be a long ass review if I stick with my older format XP

So let's just jump to the spoiler review shall we?
Yuki
The first episode kicks in with the daily school life of Yuki, the pink haired girl who is cheerful and apparently a dojikko and she spent her days learning stuff at school and so on.. And she chased a dog on a school
So at first 15 mins, I was like "ok, nothing's really going on here, just a girl chasing a loose dog in a school"
apparently in the last 2 mins of the first episode it is revealed that everything that we saw in the whole episode was only her delusion.. all hell broke loose! Apparently they are in zombie apocalypse!

I was like.... "Whoaaa~ that was interesting"

Yuki was like that dog comic where everything burns up and he said, "This is fine"

Up to that point I was thinking "Well that was an interesting theme" and I'm a zombie genre fan.. and this kind of theme is unique
"The psychological impact on zombie apocalypse"
You know when we watch The Walking Dead, the theme was "Human drama in zombie apocalypse"
or Shaun of the Dead "Humor on zombie apocalypse"
or another genre like High school of the Dead "Fanservice on zombie apocalypse"

but that was what I perceived after I finished watching the first episode......

I was expecting something more dark and psychological impact on the team...
but
nope
the anime just say "Hey you were expecting a psychological impact anime? But it was me, MOE!"
to me

yes dude... I can say that 70% of this anime is just moe shit with slice of life theme. with extra zombie as a gimmick

just look at the zombies! They are the least threatening zombies I've ever seen!
booo... I'm scary

I can't even see their face! Even mysterious black guy from Conan have some expression!
hi we're zombies...........

The story itself is actually quite engaging if there's no Yuki around... seriously tho.. I know they kept her on the show because the other characters wants to be reminded of how things were supposed to be before the zombie apocalypse.. but she make everything become moe and cutesy.. which is kinda kill the mood sometimes...

this anime makes one thing clear for me.. Moe and zombie just don't mix well...
Well maybe they want to follow Madoka Magica's formula, moe girls with dark theme

At the end of episode 8, it is revealed that the school that they stuck in (which contains a lot of things that is very CONVENIENT for survival. i.e : Garden, food stock, solar panel, water purifier etc) is actually a shelter built by the government in case zombie outbreak happened and they were given an instruction manual to evacuate immediately in case zombie outbreak happens

at that point I was like "*sigh* Finally we got to see something interesting"

but what did they do in the next episode?

THEY STARTED IT WITH AN OBLIGATORY SWIMSUIT EPISODE! BECAUSE EVERY MOE OR SLICE OF LIFE ANIME NEEDS THAT ONE EPISODE AT LEAST IN ONE COUR AIR TIME!

My god... After the huge reveal and they decided to "pretend" as if the last episode didn't happen... I was like "SERIOUSLY?!"  =___=;

But I have to admit that the episode 10 and 11 are the best episodes the entire series. when everything went wrong and these 2 episodes was something that I expected from this anime.. A psychological turmoil and dilemma on zombie apocalypse
for example when Kurumi (or as the fan says, the shovel girl) got bit by a zombie, and in the previous episodes Rii made a promise with her,
"When I am about to turn into zombie, just kill me! Do not hesitate!
but it is depicted that Rii is morally conflicted, should she kept the promise? Should she let her become a zombie? but that isn't that too risky? what should she do?
that is the kind of psychological impact that I was expecting from this anime!

Kurumi got bitten by Megu-nee (their teacher who turns into zombie which caused Yuki's shock which leads to her mental disorder) because she hesitated to kill her. That kind of dilemma is also shown in the first episode of The Walking Dead when the guy who helped Rick (totally forgot his name) is unable to kill his wife that has been turn into a zombie.
That what is interesting to be shown to the audience! That what makes us human a human!

which leads us the final episode, the ending is a cringe material for me

So in the last 2 episodes, the zombies finally raiding the school and everything just went wrong.. but Yuki has an idea to the broadcasting room and her plan was to distract the zombie with all of the speakers around the school

and you know what she said?

*I don't really remember how it goes but I think this is basically what she say*

"Dear zombie-san, the school time is over, just go home now.."

and the zombie just leave... and never go to the school again.....

wat the actual F????

THAT PLAN WORKED?!?

My god this anime...

And they just leave the school afterwards... and before they leave they have some kind of graduation ceremony bullshit because they are at school...

the opening song and the ending song doesn't suit me because it's just #2Moe4me

but the BGM is quite good honestly, the song that I love is when the groups saves miki from the mall. that song played in the car when they are on the way back to school..

so here comes to the final section.. should you watch it?
If you are a zombie genre fan, well, this thing will let you down, so don't... don't even think about it...
but if you are a moe lover, you should totally check it out.. if you are into that kind of thing...

I'd recommend you to watch a better zombie movie like Dawn of the Dead *yes I'm recommending you a live action movie not anime* which is my all time favorite zombie movie!

That's it guys, hope you find this review useful and fun to read of course!

This is Reikichi, signing out!

First Impression of Fall Anime 2015

Hey guys! It's been.... quite awhile, huh?
Kept you waiting, huh?
Nope?
okay...

I've been so busy the whole month and actually I took a week leave last week but I spent most of the time playing Monster Hunter all the time until it raised my play time from 280 hours to 330 hours now *lol I played a lot*
So here I am now back with the *hopefully* weekly blog post haha

Anyway, can I hype for a second that finally JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 : Diamond is Unbreakable (Diamond wa kudakenai) is finally confirmed?? XDD

I really can't wait to see duwang Morioh got animated! Finally we're going to see Kira Yoshikage, Rohan Kishibe, Koichi, Josuke, Okuyasu and Mikitaka! Yes! Freaking Mikitaka! Can't wait to see him eating a tissue in glorious David Pro animation X'D
I really hope they use the same seiyuu cast as in the JoJo All Star Battle game. Because I'm already accustomed to the casts.. If they do, that'll be awesome! XD

And as for the ending theme song, I think the first ending should be "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" by Pink Floyd and the second ending would be either "Killer Queen" or "Another one Bites the Dust" by Queen.. Please David Pro. make it happen! XD

So Fall anime has been started like 3 weeks ago and I haven't posted anything for the past 1 month.. so? let's do this!

One Punch Man : I read the manga like 1 year ago and I loved it! So when it is announced that the Manga is getting an Anime adaptation, I was hype as hell! And I've watched the first 2 episodes... and IT WAS HYPE AS HELL! My god Madhouse, You have done it again! You gave my hype and you have answered my hype and make it even better than I expected... And the opening song is just too manly! Probably the best OP of this season or even this year XP
I hope they cover a lot of arcs on the manga and continue it on to the second season.. XD

Lupin III : L'Avventura Italiana : I am a big fan of Lupin III, Well I haven't watched all of the series lol. But I'm hooked with Lupin III since I watched the movie, "Lupin III : The Caslte of Cagliostro" which is directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is an old anime movie that is worth checking out if you haven't watched it!
anyway,I've watched 2 episodes of these anime, and it was awesome! The animation is stunningly beautiful and the art style looks modern but classic as well.. *I am confused to describe this part hahaha* and thank god they brought back the Lupin III theme for the opening song! XD
You should watch this if you are a fan of Lupin III like me

Noragami Aragoto : I watched the first season, and I liked it. Haven't started watching this anime, I hope it stays good like the first season

Mobile Suit Gundam : Iron Blooded Orphans : I love Gundam series and this Gundam series kicks off on a very unique setting on Gundam Universe. The main protagonist works on PMC (Private Military Company). Usually the main protagonist of Gundam are neutral at first and then he will take sides later on the stories.. (except for Gundam 00)
So far I'm enjoying the series and loved the concept of conflict on it! And the story telling is much more comprehensive than Gundam G-Reco... I dropped it at the 2nd episode.. Couldn't bear with it because of
G!!
G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much shit happening, I don't what happened

Young Black Jack : Haven't watched it yet but I watched Black Jack back then on Animax, unfortunately I watched the dub version... yes it was awkward. But even though I watched the dubbed version, I still love the story, I think I will watch this one

K- Return of Kings : I watched this with my girlfriend, I watched the first season and watched the movie as well, Since this is the continuation from the movie which ends with great cliffhanger, so I'm curious to know how this show will wrap up. The animation at the first episode was awesome. The battle scene were intense. And another thing that is so intense at the first episode is Awashima's oppai! My god it looks like her oppai has its own mind and whenever I watch it I was like
"WHOA! Awashima Calm your tits down!" *slap*
It feels like the show wants to "balance" between the fanservice and manservice if you know what I mean lol

Osumatsu-san : I am honestly not familiar with this "showa anime". But the first episode made me laugh out loud! The gag feels like Gintama, so if you enjoyed Gintama's humor, this would please you too

Garo - Guren no Tsuki : I am honestly not familiar with Garo, until one of my friend asks me to watch Garo - Honoo no Kokuin and I'm hooked with it. So I'll give this anime a shot!

Gochuumon season 2 : well i watch the first season, and it makes me want to buy Tippy plush *if someone sells it to me here in Indonesia*, I may or may not watch this.. Well currently I'm not in the "moe" mood after I watched Gakkou Gurashi

Yuru Yuri san hai : I watched the last 2 seasons, it was hilarious, I might watch this one

Heavy Object : well I think Marty McFly has predicted this back in 1985,
because he always say "Man, this is heavy"
Got it?
Back to the future? anyone?

Shingeki no Kyojin Chuugakkou : well, I was pretty hyped when I watch Shingeki no Kyojin for the first time... but then the plot got so predictable for me.. so I dropped reading the manga and there's this one.. It feels like milking the franchise.. like seriously.. who would watch this besides the fans? lol

Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai Umatteiru : You know there's a stupid trend that every light novel has a super long ass title that us foreigner (not japanese native speaker) having hard time to remember it..
Based on the artstyle and seeing the genre is mystery, ok, I will watch this one

Okay guys, I think this season has a lot of good and entertaining anime that is worth checking out!
I hope it won't be disappointing just like last season haha

Some update and future plans for this blog + Summer anime 2015 watching progress so far

So I'm going to post a little update for this week.. and also future plans of this blog
Apparently I got a lot of projects to do in my office up till November, So I think there's a possibility that I won't be able to post weekly as usual. *maybe 1-2 weeks of hiatus* I'm sorry for the inconvenience guys.

Secondly, I usually go to Anime Festival Asia Indonesia (AFAID) every year, but this year I won't go there because I'm not really interested to go there since it's quite far from my home.. (I live in the south, and it is being held in the far north in the middle of nowhere) and not offering something new, and they screen some anime which is not interesting for me (i.e. Attack on Titan movie recap of the series, Boruto *blergh, assassination classroom (which I already watch the series...welp 2 eps of it to be precise XP). And there's no interesting guest or bands that I like.. Well there's FLOW.. but I'm not into them that much.. Even though there's GACKT coming, but unfortunately he didn't got to perform on Anisong.. welp.. hopefully next year. haha

But I'm coming to Jakarta Comic Con instead, which is basically held in the same place as AFAID lol (Yeah I just said that it was far from my home, but I'm going there anyway). Since I'm curious what'll be like. I hope they screen some update on Batman vs Superman there

Sorry, I'm itching for experiencing something new, hahaha! Maybe I'll post an event report of Jakarta Comic Con later. *maybe* XP

The next thing I want to talk about is this year's summer anime.. and boy there's a lot of disappointing anime this season, you can check my first impressions of them here . The thing is, does it live up to my expectations? Let's see!

Chaos Dragon : I watched 3 eps of it and I dropped it... There's a lot of characters, and I don't really engaged with the setting, There's even an explanation in break scene before part A and part B of the anime. How can you expect to read that wall of text in just a second like that? Damn it. My girlfriend have watched up till episode 8 and she told me that there's nothing really interesting happened up to that point. Chaos Dragon is chaotic after all.

Himouto Umaru-chan : This anime is popular among my friends.. And that made me download the whole on going episode, And I watched the first episode of it... aaaannnddd I dropped it and delete the remaining episode because I can't take it... I don't get why it is so popular lol
So there's this imouto (Little sister) who does everything perfect at school (having good grades, good at sports etc) but at home, she became a super spoiled freaking brat who is a total otaku and always get what she wants by being a bratty bitch and because his big brother let her do so...She always got what she wants and always have it her ways. She whines and sulks until she got what she want.....
and every time she did that I was like

It's said here that the genre is comedy, but it didn't make me laugh at all the entire first episode......
For me if the genre is comedy and it didn't make laugh at all, that means the show have problems..
well there's a notable "otaku" references going on like "Nice Boat" from School days... But still, didn't even make laugh like I watch Gintama (which is much better in executing parody/referencing jokes). Sometimes I fed up with otaku reference jokes in anime, Every time I watch anime that heavily relies on otaku reference jokes, I was like

And that is why I don't watch Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken

Maybe there's a reason I don't like this anime.
Have I seen this before?
Why did it feel so familiar?
Why did I hate this kind of imouto?
oh
I remember
she's like Kirino from OreImo!
Nope,
I'm so done
Not this shit again

Non Non Biyori : I've watched up to eps 4 and still haven't move on from it.. It's so good so far!

God Eater : I watched up to eps 3 and I dropped it because it's so bland and the main character (which should be the player) is just boring and doesn't have a personality on him. The animation is indeed stunning since it is ufotable works, but still.. I don't feel the story is the same with God Eater that I played on PSP back then. It feels so different, and the pacing at 2nd episode is just tooooo slow..
it was like, the main character got prison because..... he didn't obey the rule. and in the end they offered the main character "Hey kid, do you want to get out of prison?"
and the main character be like
"well duh!"
and the show ended....
I think this show is popular because of Alisa's underboobs amirite?

Ranpo Kitan : I watched 2 eps of it and I'm still confused with it. It is a good mystery show but the way it delivers and the presentation is kinda weird. I really don't like the other characters that is not really "Important" are just shown as silhouette and that feels like a lazy animator doing their things because of the tight schedule lol. But what makes me irritated is apparently the silhouette character was the criminal who did the murder.
Well.. I sure didn't see that coming hahaha

Gangsta : best of this season so far. currently watching 9 episodes of it now

Charlotte : It is a good show so far. It feels so Angel Beats I will make a full review of it when it is done airing

Ushio to Tora : just watched the first episode of it. Haven't continue it yet... But it is cool!

Gakkou Gurashi : ermmagad... How do I even start about this anime? What keeps me watching this is because I want to know why people see this as a good series.. while I don't see it that way. Well it has good premise and taking an unique theme in zombie genre.. but for me it's a wasted potential...
I will make full review of this too.. but this one is going to be harsh review.. because I hardly enjoy this popular anime

Kangoku Gakuen (Prison School) : 2nd best of this season! Totally gonna make a review out of it!

Gatchaman Crowds Insight : Just watched the first episode.. Still saving them up!
Durarara! : Saving 'em up
Rokka Yuusha : It has a good premise, I watched up till eps 3... haven't continued watching again

Okay guys, that's all the update for this week! Thanks for reading! :D

Should a fictional story make sense?

Hey guys, welcome back to my weekly blog post! This week I'm going to talk about logic in a fictional story

What triggers me to post this is because I saw a comment in Attack on Titan Live action movie (which got a lot of bad reviews btw, but I'm not going to watch it haha) that comment was saying like
"Err Should a fiction movie be realistic? If a movie is realistic, well that's a real world sir!"
that person is commenting on the movie critique about this movie that told us that this movie makes no sense and not realistic at all.

that comment grinds my gears *seriously tho hahaha* (I spent too much time on the internet seriously, Sometimes when I don't know what to post, I read up the comments just for blog post material, oh me XP)

The thing is, that comment is neither wrong or right, every single movie or anime or books or manga/ comic are not real (depends on the source material too, if it is a biography or telling a true story events, then it is real). But what makes us feels absorbed to that described "world" is because every story has its own logic and concept. And what makes a good story if  the story is consistent with its own logic until the end of the story. (one factor point for me, actually there's a lot of factors that make a good story good)

When I told you that it is not real, it means that it is bullshit. And I believe that every single person have their own "Bullshit-tolerance" which means how much bullshit that you can tolerate when you encounter an idea. A good fictional story, which is consistent with its own logic would make you say like Giovanna Giorno
my girlfriend is already finished reading part 5, while, I'm still in part 4 lol

and one of the factor that makes a story bad is because that the story is inconsistent with its own logic would make you say "THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT!"
The problem is, most of the people didn't aware of this "Bullshit-tolerance"and have a high "bullshit-tolerance"
As for me, my bullshit tolerance is quite low since I am a very skeptical and logical person hahahah

Let's take examples from one of most #rekt anime that I've ever watched, BIRDALDNOAH.ZERO which is a total crap anime (but God-Tier Soundtrack, thanks to Hiroyuki Sawano). In this scene, they are fighting in outer space in a mecha suit and then there's this line in the anime. (This is not an edit or troll sub)

They actually say "Kaze" in this scene. which means "wind" so in their world there's a wind in the outer space. At first I was like, "Okay so in their world, there's wind in the outer space" trying to comprehend with the total bullshit that happened in this anime. The next thing I'm going to say is spoiler for Aldnoah.Zero which is for me is totally okay to be spoiled because it's already crappy anyway XP

Later on in the next 5-6 episodes, there's a fight between this Slaine guy with other count guy *i forgot the name* and they fight. and Finally Slaine wins the battle by beheading the enemy's robot which exposed the pilot to the outer space. and then he dies because there's no oxygen in the outer space.

so.........
there's no oxygen in the space? So WHERE DOES THE WIND COME FROM?? A WIND IS A MOVING AIR RIGHT? This kind of inconsistency makes me irritated.

Let's take a look for consistency of logic now. For example Psycho Pass Movie (which is awesome btw). There's a equipment in a bracelet that lets the person to translate foreign language to the user's native language simultaneously. This equipment is used by Akane Tsunemori when she deals with people in Shambala Float which is located *maybe* in Thailand or other South East Asia country. And when Akane is around, they talk in Japanese, but when they are not around, they use English. I just love that minor consistency

Another example is JoJo's Bizzare Adventure where the fights are using logic which is consistent throughout the series. Like their Stand can only be attacked by other Stand and could not be damaged by any physical material.

Or Inception where the dreams logic is very solid and consistent too through out the movie. About the layers of dreams."The Kick" and many more!

Edge of Tomorrow also have a very unique logic and story telling, which is time loop, It is consistent right till the end. I won't spoil it for you, but it is an awesome movie! If you haven't watched it, go watch it now! XD

So, answering the title's question, Should a fictional story make sense? The story can make no sense at all, but the way how the story is delivered should make sense.

How about you guys, have you ever encountered a movie/book/anime/comic/manga that makes no sense?

Inside Out - Movie Review

Hey Guys! Welcome back to my weekly blog post! This week I'm going to post something a little bit different from my usual post. Usually I post anything related to anime stuff.. Well this time.. is anim-ated movie (Japanese called anything animated as anime, so yeah) that just I watched yesterday with my girlfriend. Inside Out! A Pixar-Disney movie! At first, I want to watch Battle of Surabaya since it got a lot of "This is our local work! 10/10" reviews, So I really want to watch it... but unfortunately that movie isn't showing everywhere near my house *lol seriously*, So we watched Inside Out instead, and boy, I'm glad we did.

Anyway, Inside Out is released quite late here in Indonesia. We just got this movie released here like 2 weeks ago *probably, I forgot hahaha

Before I watch a movie (or anime/TV series), I tend to be as clueless as possible. I just sit there, and watch the movie. That's how I enjoy something that I watch, So I'm quite sensitive to spoiler. I really love the "not-knowing-what-will-happen-in-this movie". It's fun for me! *that's why I usually review something and tried as hard as possible to not spoil it for the reader so they can enjoy the movie/anime just like I did.

The same thing with Inside Out, I'm really curious what's this movie is all about

I'm going to be less structural than my anime review this time. and as usual, this is a non-spoiler review. but at some point I will put spoiler warning so you won't get spoiled XP

It's not a Pixar-Disney movie if there's no short animated film before the movie started. And it's called Lava. It's about a mountain, in the sea. that mountain is so lonely. I cried and moved by this short movie. (this month's I managed to cry over a mountain and a tadpole shrimp *from Non Non Biyori Repeat*. Achievement Unlocked! Crybaby grown ass man!) Not going to spoil you or anything, but this short animated movie is really interesting and beautiful. Usually the short movie from pixar tends to use almost no narration at all. It's just the animation that tells the story to the audience. This time around, the story exposition delivered through song narrative. It delivers a really sweet love story in just 5 mins. damn it pixar! This short animated movie is one of my favorite after Paperman which featured before Wreck-It-Ralph

Let's talk about the movie now!
Have you ever wondered about what happens in your head when you think of something, feel about something, perceived about something, or memorize about anything that ever happen in your life? This movie describes those kinds of phenomenon that happens in your daily life. So there's 5 personified emotions inside of everyone's head:
1)  Joy, who is in charge for making happy and fun thoughts. (which looks like Ellen DeGeneres somehow)
2) Disgust. who is in charge of to feel disgust *well duh, or as she describes is to protect from poisoning both physically and socially (best character lol)
3) Anger, who is in charge to feel angry for anything
4) Fear, Who is in charge to protect everybody from potential disasters or dangers or in other words, feeling scared and worried about anything
5) and lastly, Sadness, who is in charge for making sad and gloomy thoughts which is the polar opposite character of Joy

*these characters reminds me Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater boss seriously hahaha! The Fury, The Fear, The Joy, The Sorrow
These 5 emotions are in charge to control every body's emotion, storing their memories based on the emotion felt during that memories. And in that memories there's core memories that shaped someone's personality. Which makes that particular someone is that particular someone!
So this movie is all about that. And it takes a story of something that really happens in a girl named Riley. She is very loved by her parents, have her friends, and loves to play hockey, and she is a very honest and wacky girl. Which makes her core memory is dominated by Joy.

The problem starts when she have to moved from Minnesota in San Francisco because of his dad's job. And the story goes into Riley's head and telling how she feels about moving from her old place to a new one. How did Riley feel when she moved to San Francisco? That's all I can say about the story.

I enjoyed watching this movie and loved the concept of it so much! As I mentioned in my Projective Technique post, Sometimes it is hard for people to describe how they feel. Because it is a very complex and abstract thing and cannot be measured by numbers *except we live in Sibyl System lol*
What makes me even enjoy this movie is because this movie managed to describe anything that happens in every body's (including animals) head in a very simple way! For example :
1) This movie describes the long term memory which is stored in a big shelf and shaped like maze.
2) Memory dump, which dump some memories that is not really needed, or in other words, Forgotten
3) Subconscious, which is a prison in the dark abyss of the thought which stores deep darkest fear.
4) Imagination land, where the imagination is stored *my favorite part of this movie lol
5) Dreamworks Production Studio which describes how dreams works *pun detected
6) Train of thought, which is a very nice pun. It's a train that carries thoughts or memories
7) How pop-up memories works. You know, when suddenly you remember a catchy tune in your head
8) I really like the emotion who dominates the control of emotion are different for every body
for example, Riley is dominated by Joy, her Father is dominated by Anger which describes him as an hotheaded spirited man, and her mother is dominated by Sadness which means she is a melancholic person. I personally think that I am dominated by Joy and second lead would be disgust since I'm a very skeptical person sometimes lololol
9) The concept of feeling empty or void. Where the emotion tries to press the console control but it doesn't work.
I think the theme itself is quite deep and abstract and I honestly kinda doubt that kids will fully understand what is actually they watching. Maybe teenagers can still understand this.

And I really like the ending and the message that it delivers from the ending which is.......

*SPOILER ALERT*

When we talk about moving it means it's about growing up and how we adapt to a new place if that place is not as good as the old one and growing up is not an easy matter. It is okay to be sad about it, It doesn't mean that you have throw away your actual feelings because it is a negative one. It is OK to accept and be honest about how you feel about yourself and tell about how you feel.

*SPOILER ENDS*

Should you watch this? Definitely yes! It's a very unique movie with complex concept which is presented in a simple and fun way.

That's all I can say about this movie. I honestly cried a lot during this movie, I laughed a lot, I feel disgusted at some point, and I feel scared too. Damn it Pixar! Stop playing with our emotions! X'D
What if they make a cross-over between Toy Story and Inside Out which describes what's on those toy's head? Who knows...

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012) Anime Review

Hey guys! How's it going!? Sorry for not posting last week, I had explosive diarrhea
*I shouldn't be more explicit on that one. I still feel gassy in my stomach.. But I'm good!

so as you read on the title, This is a review of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (JJBA) or JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken in Japanese... This is going to be a non-spoiler review but at some point I will put spoiler warning if I have to (because It's quite hard not to...)

I didn't know about JoJo at first, but then I realized that I knew about it without realizing that it was JoJo' Bizarre Adventure. It was 2008 where I was still in my college days and I just hooked up to the internet. I knew it from WRYYYYYY from youtube.. And I was keep asking myself,
"Why's that guy suddenly brought up a road roller into a battle??! Holy crap! That thing came out of nowhere! XD"
I didn't realize that was actually a spoiler for Part 3 in JJBA, the climax final battle between Dio and Jotaro.

What triggers me to start to watch this anime is because I feel super saturated with the current airing anime at that time... I was like
"I had enough with moeshit and ecchi! Time to watch something different!" so I thought watching JJBA would be the answer. I miss the time when man doing manly things are considered manly and not gay..
Today's anime was like "Harem ecchi series where most of the characters are girls" which is suited for boys, and "Overly metrosexual men passing balls at each other's face" like Kuroko no Basuke is suited for Girls. And those girls shipped those boys so much. Apparently being friendly to other boys were considered "I want to bang him" by fujoshi
so when Anime is full of men characters in it, the casual anime fan (which I already described here) be like
"Dude! Don't watch this anime! it's Yaoi!"
and I witness that statement on one of our local cinema page when they post Initial D movie (which is awesome btw)..

Before I watch this series, I was expecting Jotaro vs Dio, But this anime series didn't show it here, It's later on in Part 3, Stardust Crusaders
I watched this series like almost 6 months ago but I've been watched this series up to 3 times (alone, with my girlfriend, and my little sister!) Goddammit! XD
So after a long intro, let's just jump into it!

Story
A little bit of background knowledge for you, JJBA is divided into parts. Each parts has its own period or timeline and main character (which is usually called JoJo even though they have different name). Currently in the manga series there are 8 Parts of it.. and it's still ongoing. and this manga has been released from 1986 until now.. (next year would be the 30th anniversary, wow).

So I'm going to tell you the story for each part
Part 1 : Phantom Blood
The story setting is in Britain on 1880's. The story opens up with an accident that happened to the Joestar family, and there's a thug who witness that accident. They were planning to rob and loot them but in the end one of the victim wakes up and grabs his hand. The thug was shocked and thought that he was done for. But then George Joestar thought that the thug is actually helping him, He was like
"Help my son, how's my wife!?"
and the thug replied
"Your son is all right, but your wife is dead"
and George Joestar asked for help for this man. And also asked his name which is Dario Brando.
George Joestar felt indebted to Dario's help.

A few years later, Dario's son, Dio Brando, sent him to the Joestar family because Dario is dying. He has been a douchebag father and told Dio to take all of the wealth in the world. And Dio arrives at the Joestar mansion and in there he met our main character, Jonathan Joestar. Dio's goal is to inherit the Joestar's wealth and make Jonathan's life miserable and make him say
it means "What the hell are you dong?"

And that leads to them fighting and punch each other's face until one of their blood splattered to the stone mask and the blood triggers it to release some spikes out of it.

Several years later, both JoJo and Dio finished their college study, and George Joestar fell sick. Jonathan then revealed that Dio was poisoning his father, and he looked out for an antidote and met a thug named Speedwagon which tells him where the poison is. And Dio was sneakingly snatch the stone mask and wants to kill JoJo with it. and he tested on a random thug on the street and it was revealed that anyone who got stabbed  by that spike on that mask is going to be a vampire.

So later on, JoJo revealed Dio's true nature to his father. And Dio activates the stone mask to himself and he became the Vampire. And apparently he must shout WRYYYYYYYYYY! as his battle cry. JoJo and Dio fight each other out and there's so much casualties happened during the fight.
After that battle, Dio went somewhere else and Jonathan wakes up and met Will. A. Zeppeli the master of Hamon. Hamon is a martial arts which used breathing technique that burns vampire (summarizing power like a baws)

And then JoJo, Speedwagon, and Zeppeli went to look for Dio and stop him and destroy the stone mask once and for all! Will they succeed stopping Dio?

Part 2 : Battle Tendency
Time passed by after the events of Phantom Blood, It's 1938 in New York City now! The story focuses on Jonathan Joestar's Grandson, Joseph Joestar who fights against the Pillar Men which are the creators of the Stone Mask. They are awaken by the Nazi because they want to use it as a weapon for winning the World War II. But that plan backfired. The first awaken pillar men was named "Santana" by Stroheim. And Santana  rampages on the Nazi's camp. Joseph manages to stop Santana and he was told that there's more of Pillar Men. Later on, he was sent to met Caesar Zeppeli and team up with him to stop Pillar Men.

It is revealed that the Pillar Men which are AC/DC, Cars, and Wham (yes you don't read them wrong, it's all band names) are after the mythical Red Stone Aja which is needed in the stone mask in order to make the ultimate being. Joseph and Caesar tried to stop them but defeated so badly. During the process, Joseph manages to stall them and made them not to kill him immediately
he was like
"If you kill me now, you will be sorry because I have more potential to kick your asses in the next months!"
feeling challenged, AC/DC and Wham placed a ring on Joseph's organ which contains poison that will activate in the next month

Feeling insecure, Joseph and Caesar met with the Hamon master Lisa Lisa to train and tries to prevent the pillar men to get the Aja Stone. Will they succeed?

Characters
Part 1

Jonathan Joestar is the main character in Part 1, he is a true gentlemen, but naive at some point which makes me sometimes irritated watching his decision when doing something. But that's okay, I like his character development from a weak naive little boy from a badass hamon user who kicks Dio's ass. His relationship with Erina (his love interest) is very old-school *like chasing around the trees, oh those 1880's trend*.

Dio Brando is the ultimate douchebag main antagonist in Part 1. He is just purely evil, love to make other's life miserable. Killed a lot of people. And I love how the story portrays him as the big bad evil guy that must be hated by the audience but when he is gone, we will miss him so badly. When I watch for the first time I was like "Damn you Dio! I hope you die!" and for the second time I was like "Dio! My god it's been awhile!". I like his development in motivation, when he was a kid, his motivation was like
that sounds like a soap-opera-stepmother goal seriously

and when he became a vampire, his motivation is simply become the top of all. Number 1! Maybe he is one of my all time favorite villain character ever after Joker from Batman haha

Will A, Zeppeli or Master Zeppeli is the my favorite character in Part 1. He is so badass and manly! He teaches Jonathan to master the hamon martial arts. And he always say something really inspirational like
Damn he is so manly!

Robert E.O. Speedwagon or Speedwagon is the best bro ever. At first he was the random thug that wants to rob Jonathan when he is looking for an antidote for his father. And he fights JoJo. And he feels that JoJo is so gentleman and naive, and he likes JoJo's personality and become interested in him (not in that way ok?). He is an important character in this part because he yells everything about anything that happens before his eyes. It feels like he is replacing the narrator's job describing anything that happens during the show (lol). Later on in Part 2 he made a foundation named after his name and helps Joseph Joestar to stop the Pillar Men. I told you he is important! Man I wish I have a bro like him.

Part 2

Joseph Joestar is the main character in Part 2 and probably my all time favorite JoJo in the series (I haven't read all the JoJo manga, so yeah XP). His personality is so wacky and funny. But badass at the same time. It feels like watching Gintoki Sakata from Gintama (welp maybe because he is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita as well) or Dante with DMC 3 personality. He talks a lot in the battle. Sometimes he use provoking in order to win the battle. He has a big mouth personality. The mind games and being tactical during the fight makes him even more a likeable character. One thing that I like from him is he loves to predict what the opponent is going to say for example "Your next line would be '(insert line here)'" and the opponent says the exact same thing!

Caesar Zepelli is Joseph's sidekick who is a ladies' man. He is the polar opposite of Joseph' personality who is rather more cool, calm and composed. I like his hamon ability who uses bubbles as his power. At first I was like "Bubble doesn't sound so intimidating to me" but apparently his hamon techniques are quite deadly. It can cut things, prison someone inside of it and make someone suffocated. He is also a badass character

from left to right : AC/DC, Cars, Wham

The Pillar Men are the main antagonists in Part 2. Their names are band names which is hilarious at some point. Each pillar men has their own personality. AC/DC is more a cunning person, Wham takes proud when it comes to fight. And Cars is a scumbag person who is obsessed to be the ultimate being. Each of their traits makes them stands out and memorable.

Animation and Sound
David Pro making a good job and give the "Bizarre" vibe throughout the series. The animation is cool and it feels like a true anime adaptation from the manga. As for the soundtrack, The first OP which is the best OP is Sono Chi no Sadame which is the opening for Part 1. It just so catchy and sets the manly mood and pumps you up just listen to it! I freaking love the reff!

The second Opening song for part 2 is Bloody Stream, it gives more of a modern feel since the setting is more modern than part 1. Still pumping tho

and the best part of this anime is the ending. I was surprised at first when I heard the ending at the first episode. I'm very familiar with 70's-80's rock songs. So when I heard the guitar intro at the end of this anime I was like "Holy crap! Isn't this YES!?" and I heard the song and yes, it was YES! (lolwut).  Yes - Roundabout probably the best Ending song ever in anime history for me lol. It gives the bizarre and mysterious mood from the series. And just listen to the bass.. it's so damn catchy! just listen to it now.

as for the BGM in the anime, for Part 1 its more classical since it 1880's, while part 2 is more rock influenced. There's even a YES song as the BGM when Joseph encounters Santana at the first time. It's "Owner of the lonely heart" intro song. Part 2 also have some arabic music influence which are the pillar men's theme.
so arabic. wow

Personal Enjoyment
Superb enjoyment throughout the series, What's not to enjoy from this series? Epic battles, a lot of comedic moments, hilarious reference to rock bands, epic fabulous pose.
yes
there's a lot of epic fabulous pose,
I honestly do a lot of Caesar's pose seriously
more poses!

Even more poses in the next Parts ahead. A friend of mine tried to go out of his car in Dio's manner in part 1 and he fell out of car instead. Don't try to pull out some stunts from JoJo guys. It's very tempting to be tried tho hahahaha
And each battle has their unique concept sometimes you have to think about it first, but you'll get use to it. And what makes me love this series is because it is very very consistent with its own logic or concept. You can see it if you watch it on your own XD

Problems that I have with this anime
Even though I enjoyed this anime so much, I have some minor problems with this series :

1) Some minor plotholes that actually covered in the manga but not shown in the anime, for example, where does the stone mask that George Joestar come from? It is explained in the manga though, but not shown in this anime

2) Deus ex Machina : well it's not a shounen series if there's not plot device or Deus ex Machina to make the story goes on. It's not a major problem, but still, you can't have a lot of coincidences like that in real life lol. I want to give you example but I will put the spoiler alert here

Spoiler alert!

in Part 1 when it is revealed to the jonathan's father that Dio is actually an evil person, At that scene the Jojo's dad is there to witness Dio scheming to kill him. And then he said "I will go to my room I can't see my son got arrested" and then when Dio is going to be arrested by the policemen, He tried to stab JoJo with his knife in order to activate the Stone Mask, but suddenly it was revealed that it was JoJo's dad that was stabbed by Dio. And I was like "Huh? WTF!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN YOUR ROOM!?"

- in Part 2 ending when Cars almost finished Joseph Joestar once and for all, he attacks JoJo with Hamon and JoJo takes it with Aja Stone which happens to be in his arms. and he won because of that. What a convenient coincidence don't you think? lol

Spoiler ends

Should You watch it?
yes if you are into man doing manly things and great entertaining story. Not really recommended for those who wants some moe shit or looking for waifu material here. Except Speedwagon, he is a god tier waifu material *eh

Suggestions

Hokuto no Ken! It has quite the same theme "man doing manly things" but I haven't watch or finish reading it yet. Planning to watch the anime because I need more manly anime!

That's it, I hope you enjoyed this anime review, sorry it take longer than I expected lol. Thanks for reading! :D

Anime Elitist vs Anime Casuals

Hey guys! How's it going? Welcome back to my weekly post! I had a busy week at work *as usual* but yeah. that's life. you gotta face 'em all! Anyway I managed to upgrade my 3DS to New 3DS and it was AWESOME! Finally I got to play Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate with 60 fps and 3D on! My god! best. game. ever! I was thinking to not to update my blog because of this lol

Anyway, this week I'm going to rant a little bit. This post is going to be my personal opinion on Anime Elitist and Anime Casuals

The thing is,

Anime community sucks

seriously though, I entered and saw some discussion on the internet about Anime, and yeah, it sucks so hard! Not just local anime community, but also other anime community
and I noticed that there are two types of person from this anime community *generally
Which is Anime Elitist and Anime Casuals.
Anime Elitist is an anime enthusiasts who thinks that his/her taste is so refined so other anime which is not qualified as "God Tier" anime is going to be called trash. They usually have watched like more than 300 anime titles.
They'd be like "Oh your taste in anime is so shitty!"

"Your waifu is a whore! what a shit taste you have!"

"You watched this anime and you liked it? WHAT A PLEB!"

"You only watch the anime and thought that character is shitty?? READ THE MANGO PLOX!"

MANGO IS FOOD! WHY SHOULD WE READ FOOD? WE EAT FOOD GODDAMMIT!

so yeah that kind of person

While anime casuals are the one who watches like 5 anime and be like "OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST ANIME EVER!". They enjoy that kind of anime, usually the anime that they watch are the "mainstream" anime like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Sword Art Online, Attack on Titan and so on

So these 2 types of person really, really, got my nerves sometimes *hahaha
What got my nerves for both of these guys is because the elitist feels like "Holier than thou" kind of person but in anime community. And Anime community is a niche community which means it is a small community. And this so called elitist are even more niche than the anime community. And Anime casuals are the majority of the community. And seeing these two types of person debating over anime is just down right hilarious. The elitist love to make fun of the casuals, and the casuals be like what the hell man! THIS IS THE BEST ANIME EVER!

Personally I'm neither an elitists or casual because I also have watched like 250 anime titles *not qualified lol
but I watched anime just to know and feel engaged to its story, and most of the anime which elitist claims to be "God Tier" Anime are my favorite anime like JoJo's Bizzare Adventure for example
And sometimes I watched anime just to escape from reality for a bit and just to sit and enjoy the ride. And that "enjoy" kind of thing is just my personal taste. I enjoyed some of the (so called by elitist) shitty anime like One Piece or UtaPri *yes I watched this with my girlfriend and we were like CinemaSins commenting on everything that wrong with that show lol* but I enjoyed watching anime or read manga which has intriguing story like Mushishi, 20th Century Boys, Madoka Magica and so on.

My point here is, just don't be a dick to others. Opinion of other people should be respected even it is a stupid opinion like "SAO is the best anime ever" *I laughed out loud typing this sentence*
I work as a qualitative marketing researcher which heavily relies on respondent's opinion
My boss always said to me  "Every opinion matters no matter how silly they are".
Both elitist and casuals take the opinion as a fact and didn't respect each other's opinion. The thing is, opinion is not a fact. it's just an opinion. My preferences with your preferences are different. even though you judged my preferences as shitty, I don't mind! I'm ok with that

Just
don't
be
a dick!

What triggers me to post this is because I saw a post (you can click that one if you understand Bahasa Indonesia) yesterday that happens in my campus which holding a Japanese event from yesterday till today. And there's a girl who cosplays as Nico from Love Live! Personally, Nico is my least favourite character because of her annoying personality. (Remember that was just my opinion). And in Indonesian Anime Community there's a meme spreading out in the internet that says
"Waifumu lacur mz" and the direct translation would be "Your waifu is a whore, sir!" which is usually used by so-called "Anime Elitist"
And Nico is considered as a "lacur" or a whore by the elitist
And you know what happened?
There's a person shouting "Whore!" to her in that event..........

Seriously??

Is this how you elitist work? What the hell man, You are lucky I'm not around in that event..  If I was happen to be around, I'd be like

You can call me SJW or anything but, I'd totally hit that person. Can you imagine how that girl feel to be called like that? Those inconsiderate bastards! You can joke around on the internet, but when in public places, that joke can be taken as an insult! Just know your place!

*sigh

Back to the topic, my point is, just don't be a dick to others!
Here 's a quote from Ritsu Senpai from Bokura wa minna Kawaisou

Sorry for the rant guys, I hope that this anime community will be a better community. If it helps, I'd love to guide those "anime casuals" to watch even more anime that has better story and quality. That's your job elitist!
Thanks for reading!
